Homemade USB fan….!

by Stephanie Chasteen on June 24, 2008

For those do-it-yourselfers out there, here’s a pretty neat hack — make a USB fan out of two CD’s and a toilet paper tube (and a few wires).

Of course, as the comments suggests, it might take off an ear. But what’s an ear in the service of experimentation?

Or, as another commenter exclaims, ” grazie marcè!!!!” and ” WoW…! Fantastico…! ” or ” Buono se ti si rompe la ventola del processore”.

Ohhh, you left out the motor – I was thinking it must be magnetohydrodynamic.

Yeah, first time I read the list of materials that’s what I thought too. And then I forgot to add it into my *own* list of materials. Doh!

Umm.. i have made one myself… out of a usb cable and a heatsink fan… it works… but windows says its unrecognizable… anyone who knows a program that allows the cmputer to adjust the speed as it does with the other fan’s?
